Therapeutic Approach
Everybody is dealing with how much of their own aliveness they can bear and how much they need to anesthetize themselves.
Adam Phillips
Rooted in psychoanalytic principles, I emphasize the significance of exploring the unconscious mind and its impact on our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By delving into hidden patterns, early experiences, and unresolved conflicts, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our present struggles. Additionally, I strongly believe in the importance of focusing on the here and now, fostering self-awareness and promoting personal growth in the present moment. This approach allows us to explore current relationships, explore strengths, and challenge self-defeating patterns.
In my work with young patients (and young at heart), I also incorporate elements of play therapy, recognizing the power of creative expression in tapping into unconscious material and facilitating emotional healing. Through play, we can symbolically work through feelings, build insight, and foster healthy coping skills, offering a safe and transformative space for growth.
